How to Help
Donations to HOP are tax deductible. Monetary donations allow HOP the most flexibility to direct resources where they are needed most. We speak with our worldwide partner clinics, schools, and orphanages regularly to identify specific and general needs.
Kilimanjaro Kids Community Project:
After three years of construction and many generous donations from our supporters, the Kilimanjaro Kids Community Orphanage has opened it's doors in Bomang'ombe. As of June 2012 we finally were granted approval from the Tanzanian Government to move the first group of 10 children into our facility. We are proud to report that as of February 2013, the staff and children have been moved in for over six months now and are enjoying the brand new facilities!
This is only the first phase of the project. We will continue to expand our orphanage in Tanzania and help to make it more self-sufficient. Your donations will continue to help us achieve the goal of providing a good home and learning foundations for children in the Moshi, Tanzania community.
You may look at the estimate of the current monthly costs to run the orphanage. We are striving to bring these costs down with improvements such as solar power, vegetable gardens and dairy cows. We appreciate your support in achieving these steps!
